Nouvelle Vague
First WebGL Experiment by ultranoir.
Nouvelle Vague : the concept
Nouvelle Vague offers a poetic and interactive real-time 3D experience based on Twitter. In a minimalist and surrealist world, Tweets are carried out with different flying objects from the borders of the scene to the center where stands the ultranoir black statue (tweets are retrieved from your selected hashtag).
Flying objects are air balloons, biplane, UFOs, zeppelins, balloons. Each has its own speed and specific paths. The user can select any of these ships to take advantage of the - pitlot’s – view and explore the scene.
What is WebGL?
WebGL is a 3D display language for browsers created by Kronos group and Mozilla.
Based on OpenGL language, it allows to display real-time 3D objects, without any plugin within your internet browser using the HTML5 canvas.
WebGL is supported by Chrome and Firerox and will be compatible with all modern browsers in 2012.
